Learn about what I doI graduated in 2009 and begun working on many freelance projects. These took a backseat when I took up a role as an ICT Technician in a local Secondary School, where I have since increased my contracted hours, and rapidly progressed to the position of Assistant Network Manager and then Network Manager, whilst recruiting my own team to support me.
Previously I have worked in Data Entry and Training positions, whilst I also have a background in customer services.
I obtained 11 A-D GCSE's at secondary school followed by 1 AS, and 3 A Levels at A-D grades. I also obtained numerous IT based RSA (OCR) qualifications through my education.
I followed this by attending The Manchester Metropolitan University for 4 years, graduating in Computer Games Technology, and am also a Xirrus XCWT Certified Wireless Technician.
I am always learning new skills and am keen to improve my knowledge across the board.
I have experience in using a large number of Operating Systems and Applications including: Microsoft Windows 7 and 10, Server 2003 through to Server 2019, and various Linux distributions and Mac OS to a lesser degree.
I have used Microsoft Office and Open Office extensively, along with Microsoft's Administrative Tools (including Active Directory, DHCP, Group Policy, Hyper-V, Remote Desktop Connection).
I use PaperCut and Spiceworks Help Desk (both server side and webGUI) on a daily basis, alongside NetSupport School.
I have knowledge of Java, C/C# and Assembly Code to a small degree, as well as self taught HTML and CSS skills/web design.
I have also studied 3D Modelling and Animation, Computer Games Design and Development, Computer and Communications Networking and Human Computer Interaction.
I also have some small knowledge of Adobe's Premiere and Photoshop products, along with media duplication applications.
I install, maintain and support PC, laptop, tablet, printer and projector hardware on a daily basis. I have excellent communication and customer facing, skills, partly due to a successful career in Retail prior to moving into the IT sector.
I provide daily Server and Network administration and support of print queues, print quotas, user accounts, passwords, network home directories. In addition to restoration of user data from server backups/shadow copies, as well as Spicework Help Desk to create, update, edit and otherwise manage tickets for user support requests. I'm also unafraid of "getting my hands dirty" and am happy to run and terminate cabling, and maintain problem printers.
Below you can find some examples of work I have carried out, these range from the very first programming and design I produced, up until the present day.
I will continue to update my portfolio with relevant items as they become available.
